As a family run business we are now into a 3rd generation with over 40 years experience as a Limited Company, based in the West Midlands. Although we generally work within a 70-mile radius, our client base has been as far afield as the Falklands and Northern Ireland.
Originally established before the war by grandfather R E Sykes, he worked for many local builders and after the war continued to expand, taking on more employees and working on new houses during the post-war housing boom. He then sourced further work from various Local Authorities, again recruiting more staff.
Following his National Service his son, Gary Sykes, also joined the Company later taking over as Chairman and expanding the business even further.
G I Sykes became a limited company in 1964 and since that time has steadily increased in size, expanding its client base until today employing 100+ operatives and a client list exceeding 400.
Gary Sykes is now Chief Executive and one of his sons Richard Sykes was appointed Company Chairman in 2002 with brother Jason Sykes becoming Contracts Director in 2004.
Being a family business the Company has always put 110% effort into giving YOU the service YOU require.
We are Members of the Dulux Partnership Scheme; Constructionline Approved, a long time Member of the Federation of Master Builders and the Construction Industry Training Board.
